Dr. Sarah Gordon
Faculty
Sarah A. Gordon is a historian, curator, and teacher. As the curator at the Reher Center for Immigrant Culture and History in Kingston, New York she has created exhibitions such as Taking Root: Immigrant Stories of the Hudson Valley (2023). She is also a faculty member of the CUNY School of Professional Studies Museum Studies program where she teaches courses such as History and Theory of Museums and Contemporary Issues in Public History. Before joining CUNY and the Reher Center she helped develop the New-York Historical Society’s Center for Women’s History, where she created exhibitions and digital installations including Women’s Voices (2017), LIFE: Six Women Photographers (2019) and Women March (2020).
Gordon received her doctorate in American History from Rutgers University, with a focus in women’s history, labor history, and material culture.
