International Undergraduate Applicants

The CUNY School of Professional Studies offers undergraduate degree programs that provide the opportunity for online and on campus study in a variety of disciplines. While we cannot issue an F-1 visa for a fully online degree program, our online offerings provide a chance for international students to earn an affordable degree while residing in their home country.  International applicants who are interested in an on campus undergraduate degree program should review the process to apply for an F-1 Visa.

In addition to the admissions criteria, applicants who were educated outside of the United States have two options for the admissions review of their foreign transcripts.

Option 1: Send an official transcript in the original language from each postsecondary school/university attended in a sealed envelope and an English translation if the transcript is in a language other than English directly to CUNY’s University Application Processing Center (UAPC). The option does not have any cost associated. The evaluation will be conducted for free.

Please submit all application documents 8-10 weeks in advance of the application deadline to allow for the additional time needed to verify foreign credentials. Documents should be mailed to the address below:

CUNY/UAPC
P.O. Box 359023
Brooklyn, NY 11235-9023

Option 2: Send your documents to one of two approved private evaluation services. Please note that costs may vary. This is a recommended option for an expedited processing time to meet admissions deadlines.

When using a private evaluation agency, please make sure to:

  • Request a “CUNY Undergraduate Evaluation.”
  • Ask for an official course-by-course evaluation report which includes a GPA based on all secondary school course work and any external examination certificates earned.
  • Request that the evaluation service includes certified copies of all documentation used for the evaluation.

Applicants who did not complete their undergraduate degree at an English-speaking institution are required to submit the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score report. TOEFL score reports must come directly from ETS (Educational Testing Service) to be official. The TOEFL code for the CUNY School of Professional Studies is 4829. The required minimum TOEFL scores are 577 for the paper-based test, 233 for the computer-based test, or a minimum of 90 on the internet-based test (IBT).

Please note that all materials and documents submitted as part of an application for admission become the property of CUNY/UAPC and cannot be returned.
