Richard Perrone

Dr. Richard Velez Perrone teaches for the CUNY School of Professional Studies, specifically within the psychology program.  Since completing a United States Air Force career as a master instructor, he has worked for the last 30 years in leadership and management of nonprofit/profit organizations in a variety of capacities.

His experiences include service as director of contract administration, director of revenue maximization, regional director of quality assurance, school of business director, and department chair for the School of Human Services and the School of Psychology.  He has enjoyed a long experience in negotiation, mediation, program planning, grant writing, and organizational human relations communication techniques.

Dr. Perrone holds a Doctorate in Human Services/Social Work and Community Services, a Master’s degree in Human Relations, a Master’s degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, and a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services.  He has taught many classes in organizational management, psychology, human services, ethics, research, and counseling.

In addition to his work, he enjoys activities such as spending time with his family, biking, camping, skiing, motorcycle riding, tennis, scuba diving, and playing in a professional rock band. He has six children - four daughters and two sons.
